This group meets in the Alexandria and Springfield areas, and is loosely informed by learning philosophies such as Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia.

Members commit to cover a minimum of six "classes" and backup a minimum of three classes during the semester for each day their child attends class. (Exact total depends on the number of participating families.) Hosting in your home is optional.

Each interested family will be invited to participate in a "trial" period before applying. Unlike traditional preschools which may meet your child only one time before deciding whether to accept them, this gives us and the prospective family a chance to evaluate whether the group is a good "fit." You will attend class with your child during the "trial" period.

The Building Blocks Co-op class is currently at full enrollment. When we have openings, we extend an invitation to participate in a "trial" period to families who are interested in joining us.  Please use the widget at right (Scroll down!) or visit www.joytroupe.com to join the Joy Troupe, follow us on Facebook, or subscribe to this blog to hear about openings as they arise.

Please understand that this process is meant to make sure the experience is a good one for all concerned, and is NOT a reflection of how much we like you or want to spend time with you.

Participating in a group like this is a big commitment, and if we feel it will not meet your needs, we will not impose that commitment upon you, nor will we be offended if you decide that what we're doing is not quite what your kiddo needs right now!

Thank you for your interest in our Building Blocks group!
